Snoop Dogg isn’t holding back when it comes to his beloved Los Angeles Lakers. The rap legend and longtime Lakers fan made his frustration clear during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, where he urged the team’s management to take action and shake things up after a disappointing stretch of games.
“I think that we need to make some changes, man,” Snoop said during the show. “Like, we brought back the exact same team from last year. No disrespect, but that ain’t gon’ cut it. We need to make some moves, move some people around, and you know, make some adjustments.”
He directed his comments at general manager Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss, urging them to act fast. “Jeanie, what’s the dude’s name? Hello, where you at? What you doing? Come on, man, make some moves, some adjustments. There’s some people out there that we can have on our squad, and you just got to make the decision that it’s time to make that move,” Snoop said.
Snoop’s frustration comes as the Lakers sit in the eighth seed of the Western Conference, struggling with a 3-7 record in their last 10 games. He warned the team’s leadership that patience among fans is running thin. “As Laker fans, y’all are on the clock. Y’all got to hurry up before we end up cussing y’all out and going all in on y’all like we normally do. Right now, we’re on television being very professional. But on Instagram, y’all can get it.”
With NBA trade season underway, big names like Zach LaVine, Brandon Ingram, and Jimmy Butler could become available, leaving fans hopeful for a significant roster shakeup. Whether the Lakers will make any major moves remains to be seen, but Snoop Dogg has made it clear—Laker Nation won’t accept mediocrity.
Off the court, Snoop Dogg has been keeping busy with his latest album, Missionary, a collaboration with Dr. Dre. The rapper has also opened up recently about personal struggles, including his daughter’s stroke, which was a challenging time for the family. Fortunately, things are looking better now.
