Thirty-one years after Doggystyle shook the music world, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are back with their new album, Missionary.

Released via Death Row, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope, this Dre-produced masterpiece pays homage to Snoop’s roots while delivering modern twists, legendary collaborations, and nostalgic G-Funk vibes.

Missionary is packed with surprises, including appearances by Sting, Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, and even a posthumous feature from Tom Petty. Snoop showcases his signature storytelling and lyrical prowess, blending seamlessly with Dre’s iconic production.

Tracks like “Another Part of Me” feature Sting stepping into uncharted territory with lines like, “From the jump on the run, man, I walk away/ I’m the one, give a fuck what they got to say.” Meanwhile, “Last Dance with Mary Jane” uses Tom Petty’s titular sample as Snoop and Jelly Roll reflect on life’s trials. Lead single “Gorgeous,” featuring Jhené Aiko, and “Outta da Blue,” sampling M.I.A., further highlight the album’s diverse sound.

The 15-track album, with highlights like “Gunz n Smoke” (featuring 50 Cent and Eminem) and “Skyscrapers” (featuring Method Man), has fans and critics alike buzzing over this fresh chapter in Snoop and Dre’s storied careers. Alongside the album, Snoop and Dre released a short film of the same name, adding a visual narrative to the project.

Outside of music, Snoop is branching into Hollywood once again, co-producing and starring in The Last Man, a Luc Besson film “in the vein” of Planet of the Apes. To close out the year, he’ll perform in Lincoln, California, on December 27th—marking the perfect wrap-up to a groundbreaking 2024.
