Hayley Atwell is officially suiting up again as Agent Peggy Carter for Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.

According to Deadline, the 42-year-old actress is set to reprise her iconic role in the upcoming film, marking yet another chapter in her long-standing connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

While fans are thrilled to see Atwell back in action, Deadline also revealed that a standalone Peggy Carter movie was once in the works. However, plans for that project reportedly fell through when the story couldn’t come together. Instead, both Marvel and Atwell saw Avengers: Doomsday as the perfect opportunity to reintroduce Peggy Carter to the big screen.

Atwell’s journey as Peggy Carter began in 2011 with Captain America: The First Avenger, and she has since appeared in numerous Marvel projects, including the Agent Carter short film and ABC series, as well as major blockbusters like Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Endgame. Most recently, she portrayed an alternate version of Peggy Carter in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
