The Rock’s Holiday Action Flick “Red One” Receives Amazon Prime Release Date

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson brings the holiday spirit with a twist in Red One, a festive, action-packed film co-starring Chris Evans that’s set to debut on Amazon Prime on December 12. After a successful theatrical run that pulled in $163 million globally ($85 million domestically), fans will now be able to stream the blockbuster from the comfort of their homes.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, who previously teamed up with The Rock for Jumanji, and written by Chris Morgan of Hobbs & Shaw fame, the movie promises high-energy adventure and holiday cheer. The star-studded cast includes J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel.

Produced by The Rock, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia under Seven Bucks Productions alongside Amazon MGM Studios, the film centers on Santa Claus’ daring rescue mission. According to the official synopsis, “After Santa Claus – Code Name: RED ONE – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Dwayne Johnson) must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Chris Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.”
