“I have colorectal cancer,” Van Der Beek revealed. “I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family.” The actor offered hope to fans, adding, “There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good.”

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer encompasses both colon and rectal cancers, which affect the large intestine in the digestive system.
