Chris Hemsworth truly made a name for himself by portraying the role of Thor, the God of Thunder, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. However, the renowned and his wife Elsa Pataky are currently facing criticism for the prank they pulled on their son’s birthday.

Fans criticized Pataky for “violent” and “ridiculous” behavior after she pressed one of their sons’ faces into the birthday cake. Hemsworth took to his Instagram to share the birthday snaps where the “Thor” actor and their other two kids can be seen laughing as Pataky holds her son’s head down in chocolate cake.

One critic commented in the comment section, “Why people smash their kid’s face in the cake is above my understanding but whatever.”

“Why do people think this is funny?” wrote another user, before a third added, “It’s so violent.”

“In my country [this is] done, but it’s very poorly [looked upon] because several accidents have already happened,” added a fourth netizen.

While Hemsworth and Pataky are still silent in the face of the criticism, other fans have stepped forward to defend them.

“Violent? It’s a bit of play,” wrote one supporter, while another added, “Just a bit of basic humor….. they look like they are having a good time together.”

Hemsworth posted the playful moment on his Instagram account, which has over 56 million followers. He shared the photos and wrote that it’s the traditional way to eat cake in their household.

“Happy 9th birthday to my two little men! Only one way to eat cake in this house and that’s to have mum slam your head into it face first!!”

The couple got married in 2010 and has three children together, a 10-year-old daughter named India and twin sons named Sasha and Tristan, who just turned 9. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates regarding the ‘Thor’ actor and his family.
