Jersey Shore Cast Caught Off Guard by Sammi Sweetheart’s Return

Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola has reunited with her castmates more than ten years after leaving the original series to film ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,’ MTV announced on Saturday. The reality star was photographed on a chair with a boom mic and camera in the frame, presumably recording a confessional as the network broke the news on social media. However, it now appears that her fellow cast members were unaware of her return.

According to a report from TMZ, Pauly D, JWoww, Snooki, The Situation, Vinny, and all the other actors on “Family Vacation” were as shocked as the rest of the world when Sammi showed up on set this past week. According sources that soke to TMZ, it was a genuine shocker for everyone involved, evoking wild laughter, weeping, and every emotion in between.

All of that was caught on camera and it will all play out in the sixth season of this show which is presently filming its second half. No word on an air date. Sammi’s comeback is significant given that it has been more than ten years since she appeared on anything Jersey Shore-related and that she was the only original cast member to miss ‘Family Vacation.’ However her arrival at this time may be perfectly timed.

Giancola also confirmed her exciting return by reposting the same photo on her Instagram Stories and Twitter. Fans took to social media to share their feelings about the reality star’s highly anticipated return, writing things like, “I’m going to lose my f–king mindddddd!!!!!!!,” “OMG STAHP” and “This is so f–kin iconic.”

Jersey Shore aired from 2009 to 2012 before being rebooted by MTV in 2018 as Jersey Shore: Family Vacation without Giancola. Giancola’s ex Ortiz-Magro had previously been featured in the new series but he declared in May 2021 that he would be taking a break due to mental health issues and legal issues. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs on MTV on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
