The Oscar Awards ceremony last year became memorable for all the wrong reasons. This is because Will Smith shockingly slapped Chris Rock following a joke about Smith’s wife. Almost a year after the shocking incident, it seems Chris Rock finally decided to drop the hammer on Smith.

Chris Rock will also not forgive Will Smith after what he did and continues to address the slap even now. Rock even previously said that he wanted money to talk about it, which led to 50 Cent making an amusing joke about the situation.

Netflix recently premiered a groundbreaking live stand-up comedy special featuring Chris Rock, performed to a sold-out audience at the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore.

As rumored, Rock used the opportunity to criticize Will Smith for the highly-publicized “The Slap” incident that occurred at the 2022 Oscars. Although he saved his impassioned speech about Smith until the end of his set, it was certainly worth the wait.

“You all know what happened to me, getting smacked by Suge Smith,” Rock opened, comparing Smith to notorious hip-hop mogul Suge Knight. “It still hurts. I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears. But I’m not a victim, baby. You’ll never see me on Oprah or Gayle crying … I took that hit like (Manny) Pacquiao.”

Rock went on to express his admiration for Will Smith, whom he had been a fan of for most of his life, listening to his music and watching all of his films. However, he now admits that he watches Emancipation just to witness Smith’s character getting beaten up.

Rock suggested that Smith attacked him that night because Smith is much larger than him and was fueled by rage after being publicly ridiculed as a “bitch” for months following his wife’s infidelity.

“His wife was f***** her son’s friend. Now, I normally would not talk about this s***, but for some reason, these (people) put this s*** on the internet. I have no idea why two talented people would do something that ******* lowdown. We’ve all been cheated on, everybody in here’s been cheated on. None of us has ever been interviewed by the person who cheated on us on television… Why the **** would you do that ****? She hurt him way more than he hurt me. Everybody called him a bitch and who did he hit? Me!”

In conclusion, Chris Rock’s live stand-up comedy special was a highly anticipated event, and his criticism of Will Smith for the “The Slap” incident at the Oscars certainly did not disappoint. While Rock expressed his admiration for Smith as an artist, he also made it clear that he would never forgive him for what he did. This incident serves as a reminder that even in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, there are still moments of tension and conflict.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this incident and Chris Rock’s recent comments about it.
