Playboy Carti is certainly one of the most established rappers in the Hip-Hop world right now. Despite that, he is no stranger to controversy. In fact, Carti has been arrested on felony charges recently.
According to TMZ, the rapper was arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend after an argument over a paternity test. As revealed by the arrest affidavit, the woman informed police that Playboi Carti grabbed her throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she could barely breathe. She even told the police that she believed she was going to die.
The woman told officers she has been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for 2 years, has lived with him since July last year and was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged incident on Dec. 20.
According to the woman, she informed the police that she intended to discuss the baby with Playboi Carti, but their conversation regarding a paternity test turned into an argument that resulted in a physical altercation. She also reported that a witness attempted to intervene, but Carti attacked her again when she managed to break free and reach her car.
Reportedly, the victim informed the police that Carti attempted to drag her out of the car and covered her mouth when she tried to use the SOS feature to call for help. The police arrived to find the woman with apparent injuries to her neck, chest, and back.
His attorney, Brian Steel, tells TMZ…”Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.” We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing story.
