I Know What You Did Last Summer is regarded as an all-time classic when it comes to teenage horror. Now it seems a sequel has not only been greenlit, but production for the film has already commenced as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, I Know What You Did Last Summer is getting an unexpected sequel by Sony. Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are also in talks to return.

It was said that the project is in the earliest stages of development, and talent deals have yet to be fully hammered out, according to sources.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote Thor: Love and Thunder and directed Netflix’s Do Revenge, is on board to direct the follow-up to the 1997 slasher film, which won several nominations.
