Colin Kaepernick, once a rising star in the NFL, has become a polarizing figure in American sports and culture. During his first few years with the San Fransisco 49ers, he had a successful run and even led the team to a Super Bowl. He even orchestrated a second-half comeback that nearly won them the whole thing. Sadly, his one promising career took a sudden turn for the worst.

After opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, Kaepernick has been effectively blacklisted from the league due to his advocacy and protests against racial injustice and police brutality.

Despite the controversy, the quarterback-turned-activist has inspired a nationwide movement, with athletes and citizens alike taking a knee in solidarity.

His impact off the field has earned him numerous accolades, including being named GQ’s Citizen of the Year and being selected for Time’s 100 Most Influential People list.

Despite not getting a second NFL opportunity, he still works hard whenever he gets the chance. He manages to stay in good shape despite being away from the game.

According to Heritage Auctions, Collin Kaepernick’s jersey from his 2013 playoff run is being sold at auction. Moreover, this is a worn and signed jersey from the Divisional Round win against the Green Bay Packers where he threw for 263 yards while running another 181 yards.

As of writing this article, Heritage Auctions is expecting this to go for a price of $40,000. Fans can begin bidding on the jersey before the auction ends on February 25.

Despite his ongoing absence from professional football, Kaepernick remains a symbol of resistance and a catalyst for change. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
