The Batman has always been one of the standout DC Comics movies. The first movie of the franchise, starring Robert Pattinson, has received widespread critical acclaim since its release. However, there’s a good news for Pattinson fans as it’s confirmed that he is all set to return in a sequel to the March 2022 film.

Warner Bros. officially announced the sequel at CinemaCon in late April 2022, less than two months after The Batman hit movie theatres. At the time of the announcement, Reeves thanked everyone in attendance for their fantastic support for the movie.

“Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

The plot was already being discussed before the sequel was officially announced. In terms of adapting comic book arcs, Pattinson revealed that he had a personal preference. “I was definitely kind of thinking Court of Owls is probably gonna be in the sequel,” Pattinson told Vanity Fair.

“It definitely seems like — well, I mean, I am literally just guessing, I just keep saying it.”

The Batman Part II is all set to hit theatres on October 3, 2025, according to the announcement made by James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new heads of DC Studios, in January 2023. Although Pattinson was the only cast member who had been officially confirmed at the time of the sequel’s announcement in April 2022, there is still a possibility for other actors to return, including Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. Colin Farrell might also make a comeback as the Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot.

While Pattinson hopes for a Court of Owls appearance, Reeves suggested that Mr. Freeze might appear in the follow-up. “In my view, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything,” he told Collider in February.

“So to me it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, that such a great story, right?”

For Pattinson’s upcoming film, Reeves is maintaining the title simple. Gunn and Safran announced that the sequel will be titled The Batman Part II in January 2023. It remains to be seen how the movie ultimately turns out to be. Until then, keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
