The wrestling community was deeply saddened by the passing of Jay Briscoe at the age of 38. His death prompted an outpouring of condolences and support on social media. Fans were initially outraged when Warner Bros. Discovery prevented Mark Briscoe from competing on AEW television, but the matter was quickly resolved. In fact, Dana White might have led to Warner Bros Discovery lifting the ban on The Briscoes.

WarnerBros Discovery would not even allow Mark Briscoe on AEW television, even after his brother Jay Briscoe passed away. Then WarnerMedia eventually changed their minds, and Tony Khan had much to do with that.

In the end, AEW then announced that Mark Briscoe would compete on Dynamite this week. The company also paid tribute to Jay Briscoe with a wonderful video package. Fans were happy to see Mark Briscoe have an emotional match with Jay Lethal while paying homage to his brother.

As previously reported, Dana White and his wife slapped each other on New Year’s Eve, something that no one at the Cabo San Lucas nightclub expected. After that incident, many tried to cancel Dana White.

In fact, White’s Slap League aired immediately after AEW Dynamite. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melter noted that Dana White might have led to Warner Bros Discovery lifting the ban on The Briscoes.

Mark is free and clear to be on tv. Everything is fine, they can show clips of Jay, they can do whatever they want, whether it was Tony, there was a lot of reaction they got. Especially, in its own way, Dana White benefitted them greatly. I can’t say that was 100% the reason or even 10%, but I do know that that comparison is being made over and over again that you won’t show this and how you got Dana on the show minutes later. It’s such a great point, it was a hard 1-2 to justify. So, I do think that in its own weird way, Dana probably inadvertently helped make that decision.

Tony Khan pushed very hard for the Jay Briscoe tribute show on AEW Dynamite this week. The Jay Briscoe Tribute show turned out to be one of the most emotional episodes of the show and fans will look back on it fondly.
