Many fans consider Triple H a legend in the pro wrestling world and one of the most important figures in the company’s history. He was also a huge part of the Attitude Era. His career spanned several World Title reigns and memorable moments throughout the years. Triple H has faced numerous foes during his time in WWE, including The Rock.

Triple H is also infamous for burying fellow pro wrestlers and there are multiple instances of that taking place, even as early as his DX days. It was said that he even refused to put over D’Lo Brown during an important feud.

During the Attitude Era, the relationship between Triple H and The Rock was not all that good at all. According to two-time Hall of Famer Bret Hart, Triple H had disdain for The Rock.

While speaking on the 81 Podcast in 2021, Bret Hart revealed that The Cerebral Assassin pitched an idea that would have seen The Rock lose the Intercontinental Championship, accusing Triple H of wanting to bury The Rock.

“When I did the big interview about America, the next week’s taping, I wrestled The Rock and they wanted me to beat him. Triple H did. He wanted me to beat Dwayne and win the Intercontinental Title. I refused. ‘What do I need the Intercontinental title for?’ (…) I remember Triple H was sick about it because he had a thing for Dwayne and wanted to ruin him. He hated him.”

Triple H was also called out for being jealous of John Cena. WWE also nixed a huge WrestleMania match with Triple H and The Rock. Regardless, the two are on much better terms now and that is all that matters.
