Shakira and Gerard Piqué, a longtime couple, called it a quit last year due to their differences. Shakira nonetheless took the initiative to share her experience through her hit. Recently, Shakira appeared to criticize her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué and his girlfriend in her new song.

The singer appears to shade her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué in her most recent song, “BZRP Music Session #53,” which she co-wrote with Argentine DJ Bizarrap. The ex-couple broke up in June 2022.

Shakira gave up the hit in Spanish, however, the lyrics are translated into English to understand the meaning of the song. Shakira also seems to make fun of Clara Chia Marti, Gerard’s 23-year-old girlfriend, in the bouncy song.

“You left me the in-laws as my neighbors / Media outlets at my door and in debt. You thought you hurt me, but you made me stronger / Women don’t cry anymore, they cash in.”

“I wish you good luck with my supposed replacement / I don’t even know what happened to you. You are so strange that I can’t even distinguish you / I’m worth two of 22 [year old] / You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded a Rolex for a Casio.”

“She has the name of a good person/ It’s clearly not what it sounds like / She has the name of a good person / She’s clearly the same as you / For guys like you / I’m too good for you and that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”

Shakira addressed up about the fallout of their divorce after their breakdown last year. However, the hitmaker and the former soccer player were parenting their two kids Milan and Sasha.

“It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it. And because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation. And so, it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult.”

“I think everyone has their own processes or their own mechanisms to process grief or stress or anxiety. We all go through stuff in life. But in my case, I think that writing music is like going to the shrink, only cheaper. It just helps me process my emotions and make sense of them. And it helps me to heal.”

Shakira appears to be having problems as a result of their breakup, despite the fact that she acknowledged that her child also faced difficulties. She did, however, note that, despite the challenges, the only thing which can heal her is music.
