Welterweight Mike Jackson made his debut against Mickey Gall at UFC Fight Night 82 in 2016 losing the bout by rear-naked choke. Jackson returned to the octagon two years later to fight and defeat CM Punk by a unanimous decision.

However, his victory over Punk was later overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for marijuana. Mike Jackson returned again in 2022 for two bouts. He won via disqualification against Dean Barry and lost to Pete Rodriguez via knockout.

With just one fight left on his UFC contract, MMA Junkie confirmed that Mike Jackson has been released from his contract. This news comes after Jackson had a physical altercation with former Strikeforce Champion Jake Shields at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. The incident occurred after the mixed martial artists engaged in a Twitter beef around politics with Jackson accusing Shields of being a white supremacist which the latter denied.

Mike Jackson was a well-known figure in the world of boxing before making the transition to the UFC. He had built a successful career as a boxer, with a significant number of victories and an impressive record.
