The NFL is one of the most intense football leagues. Recently, Damar Hamlin was injured in a game-related incident that sent him to the hospital. Now, players all over the NFL have recently discussed how the injury was not the fault of the other player.

Following the first team practice following the sad occurrence, Joe Burrow made a statement regarding the incident. The quarterback for the Buffalo Bills said, “There’s nothing you can do about that hit.”  The interesting aspect, according to him, is that this kind of collision will frequently occur in the game.

Former NFL player Bart Scott received pushback from Dallas Cowboys defender Micah Parsons. The former claimed on ESPN that Tee Higgins had some blame for “throwing his body” against Hamlin’s chest and lowering his head. Parsons expressed his intense irritation at the remark and reinstated that it was an accident.

Tyler Boyd of the Cincinnati Bengals was more direct in his response to Scott, writing, “straight bozo.” Hamlin and Higgins were only “out there playing at full speed,” according to Bengals’ D.J. Reader. Burrow stated that Higgins is managing the situation as best he can despite not being made available to the press on Wednesday.

“Tee’s doing well. He’s pretty shaken up, just like all of us. We’ve never seen anything like that, and unfortunate as it is, that’s part of the game and something that you hope never happens, but as we saw on Monday night, can and will happen.”

Following a heart attack on the field during Monday’s game, Hamlin was transported to a Cincinnati hospital. Before being transported to the intensive care unit, he underwent CPR on the field. He is currently exhibiting encouraging indications of improvement, much to everyone’s relief.

The recent news about Hamlin doing well puts his family’s mind at risk. It’s great to see players also showing support for Higgins amid this tough situation. Sportsmanship is being displayed at its best and we’re all here for it.
