This past Monday Damar Hamlin collapsed during his team’s clash against the Cincinnati Bengals after tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins. The game was suspended as Hamlin was carried off the field to a local medical facility.

Following the incident, President Joe Biden addressed the media in Kentucky before hopping on Air Force One where he revealed he spoke at length to Damar Hamlin’s parents after their son went into cardiac arrest. When asked whether football was too dangerous, he said:

“Look, the idea that you’re gonna have, look you’ve got guys that are 6’8″, 340 pounds running a 4.8 40 … If you hit somebody with that kinda … now that’s not what happened here … but I just think it’s, I don’t know how you avoid it.”

Damar Hamlin is still in the ICU in critical condition at Cincy hospital. However, he is showing signs of improvement, the team updated the media on Wednesday. We hope and pray that he has a speedy recovery. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we keep you updated on this story as it develops.
