Batista Never Aspired To Follow In The Rock’s Footsteps As An Actor

Dave Bautista is one of the most sought-after actors in the industry right now. The former WWE Superstar made a name for himself by portraying the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy film franchise. Acting was always something he wanted to do following his WWE departure. In fact, Batista had no aspirations of becoming like The Rock. Rather, he simply wanted to be known as a good actor.

Bautista previously revealed that he was completely broke before nabbing the role of Drax in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy film franchise, as he had issues with tax. Following his success as Drax, Batista nabbed roles in films such as Blade Runner 2049, Dune and most recently – Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

It is safe to say that Batista cares more about portraying a variety of roles and testing himself than becoming a massive Box Office draw. While speaking to GQ, The Animal made it clear that he never aspired to follow in The Rock’s footsteps when it came to being an actor.

“I never wanted to be the next Rock. I just want to be a good f****** actor. A respected actor.”

Dave Bautista’s acting career is certainly flourishing as he previously made it clear he wants to portray a variety of roles in his career. We will have to wait and see what other roles he has in mind for his career. Regardless, fans are excited about his acting career.
