Tom Petty was the lead vocalist and guitarist for the 1976 rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 66, one week after the end of the Heartbreakers’ 40th Anniversary Tour in 2017. Petty’s estate recently sold his Malibu beach house for over $9 million.

According to TMZ’s real estate sources, Tom’s estate has accepted an offer for the singer’s three-bedroom villa on Escondido Beach in Malibu. The property went on the market on December 14 for $9,850,000. TMZ was informed Tom’s estate accepted an offer on Christmas Eve, but the deal isn’t yet complete.

The beachside property had a main house and a detached guest house that Tom used as a recording studio. The location inspired “Something Good Coming,” one of the last songs he penned before his death in 2017.

The Malibu beach house was purchased by TP in 2010 for $6.8 million. The main suite features a fireplace, walk-in closet, ocean-view bath, and a private beachfront deck.

The house is situated on a 16,691-square-foot parcel, with 66 feet of beach frontage and breathtaking views of the coastline from practically every room in the home. The listing was provided by Chris Cortazzo of Compass. You can check out the pictures below.
