Anne Hathaway shot to fame in the entertainment world after making an appearance in the popular film Princess Diaries. Fans have been anticipating the next Princess Diaries sequel for decades. It appears that the star has finally provided a response. Fortunately, Princess Diaries 3 is still a priority for Anne Hathaway.

The Princess Diaries 3 will still be made, according to Anna Hathaway. Hathaway made her feature film debut with The Princess Diaries in 2001 when she was just 18 years old. She is now a well-known and Oscar-winning Hollywood actress.

The story of Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldi (Hathaway), a shy adolescent who discovers she is the only heir to a kingdom, is the focus of the movie, which is based on Meg Cabot’s young adult novel series of the same name. Alongside Hathaway, Julie Andrews played Mia’s paternal grandmother, the reigning monarch of the kingdom and the messenger of the news.

The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement, released in 2004, reunited Hathaway and Andrews with director Garry Marshall. The fact that both movies continue to be mentioned in pop culture and have inspired a ton of Internet memes shows how influential the nostalgic franchise has remained.

Although the princess’s reluctance to assume her royal duty was overcome in the sequel movie, there is still a lot of untapped narrative potential. Hathaway hasn’t been coy about expressing her interest in a third movie, fueling rumors that a Princess Diaries 3 might be released in 2019. Andrews, who passed away in 2016, has previously remarked that she can’t picture returning to the business without Marshall.

Despite Andrews’ earlier comments, Hathaway reiterates her desire to return to the franchise in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. The opportunity to reunite with Andrews, who still has a great deal of respect for her iconic former co-star, is one of the actor’s key motivations for wanting to make a third movie.

“I would more than entertain it, I’m pulling for it. If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”

Although Hathaway’s remarks are a sweet affirmation that she is still committed to seeing Princess Diaries 3 through, it appears that her involvement depends on working with Andrews once more because she appears willing to go to any lengths to make it happen.

Since Marshall passed away, Andrews hasn’t shown any inclination to make a third Princess Diaries movie, so it’s tough to imagine how that could happen. However, there are still a lot of novels to adapt, and viewers haven’t had a chance to watch Mia in action as a genuine, autonomous queen, so her story is yet unfinished.

Viewers might finally get to see a return to the mythical nation of Genovia if Hathaway is successful in getting Andrews on board. Given that approximately two decades have elapsed since the last movie, Princess Diaries 3 is likely to focus on Mia’s daily life as she adjusts to life as a royal leader alongside her romantic beau Nicholas (Chris Pine).

Fans of the Princess Diaries movies may have a pleasant new movie to look forward to because Hathaway has continued to express her desire to once again fill Mia’s shoes. What’s your take on hearing Anne? Let us know in the comments. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
