Kanye West had already been burning bridges in the music industry and it wasn’t enough. Over the last few weeks, the rapper has been embroiled in numerous controversies. Ye sparked outrage after making a series of anti-Semitic remarks. Now, he’s drawn attention to himself once more with a shocking assertion.

According to Kanye West, JAY-Z once broke up a fight between Drake and Diddy. During a visit on the Lex Fridman Podcast on Monday Oct. 24, the Chicago rap mogul recounted the incident, which he said occurred at his Yeezy Season 1 fashion presentation in New York City in February 2015.

While reminiscing on the show’s star-studded lineup, Ye casually stated that Hov was forced to play peacemaker when tensions between the OVO hitmaker and Bad Boy CEO erupted backstage. Kanye also said that the fashion show was “so popular that Justin Bieber had to sit in the second row,” He recalled, “This thing had every name you could think of — it had Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, it was Kylie’s first fashion show.”

“You had Puff Daddy. At that time, Puff Daddy had beef with Drake. Drake still came to the show and JAY-Z had to break up the fight backstage.”

However, Kanye didn’t divulge any more details on the alleged scuffle. While news of Drake and Diddy fighting at Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 show was previously unknown, the pair’s rocky relationship has been well documented.

TMZ reported, Drizzy and Puff allegedly got into a violent brawl at DJ Khaled’s birthday party in Miami in December 2014, resulting in the Toronto rapper being hospitalized with an injured shoulder. The animosity was sparked by a significant disagreement over the song “0 to 100 / The Catch Up,” which its producer, Boi-1da, had sent to both Drake and Diddy months before.

During Khaled’s birthday event at Club LIV, Diddy is claimed to have confronted Drake and told him, “You’ll never disrespect me again,” before hitting him. They finally patched things up over the phone in May 2015, three months after Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 show. The following year, Diddy collected Drake’s Best Hip Hop Video award for “Hotline Bling” on Drake’s behalf at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards after the rapper became “caught in traffic.” Meanwhile, you can check out Kanye’s interview below.
