Sean O’Malley Draws Big Reactions After Controversial UFC 280 Victory

UFC 280 saw two of the best in the bantamweight division in Petr Yan and Sean O’Malley battle it out in the octagon. Petr Yan put his number one ranking on the line against Sean O’Malley. The biggest question going into the match was Sean O’Malley’s ability to hang with someone who is regarded as potentially the best active bantamweight on the planet.

However, Sean O’Malley took the fight to Petr Yan hurting him multiple times on the feet. Petr Yan also put up a tough fight against Sean O’Malley by utilizing his MMA arsenal to test the rising star. However, it wasn’t enough as Sean O’Malley won the bout via split decision.

Before the fight, UFC president Dana White informer Barstool Sports that the winner of the bout would fight the winner of the UFC 280 co-main event featuring Aljamain Sterling and TJ Dilashaw. With this win, Sean O’Malley extends his impressive record to 15-1 with one no-contest.
