Kevin Spacey had been accused of sexual assault by fellow actor, Anthony Rapp, back in September 2020. Rapp had alleged that Spacey had inappropriately touched him at a party in 1986, when Rapp was 14 years old.

Rapp had taken legal action against Spacey, and was seeking $40 million in damages. However, on October 18th, a New York City jury concluded that Spacey did not molest Rapp.

The case against Spacey was dismissed by Judge Lewis Kaplan, who refuted Rapp’s claim of assault, as well as his claim that Spacey had intentionally inflicted emotional distress on him.

Spacey’s attorney, Jennifer Keller provided a statement while leaving court, in which she said that “[they] are very grateful to the jury for seeing through these false allegations.”

While Spacey has won this case, this isn’t the end of his legal battles. The actor is also facing five charges of sexual assault in the UK, to which he has pleaded not guilty. The trial for those charges is scheduled for June 2023.
