House of the Dragon has quickly grown to become one of the most popular shows in the world. This is because the show is the prequel to the widely popular Game of Thrones series. The season finale of the show was set to air on Sunday.
However, it looks like fans may not have to wait till Sunday to get their hands on the season finale. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season finale for House of the Dragon has leaked online via torrent websites giving eager fans a chance to see how the season will come to a close.
HBO who are not pleased with the leak have seemed to have identified the cause of the problem. A spokesperson from HBO has stated that the leak had come from one of its distribution partners in the EMEA region.
“It appears to have originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region,” which is located in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”
The company added, “HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet” … noting how disappointing it is for the show to leak early.”
Back in 2017, a Game of Thrones episode from the seventh season found its way to torrent sites ahead of its scheduled airdate. At the time, HBO attributed the leak to the episode having been accidentally posted by a third-party vendor.
