Willie Spence was a contestant on American Idol Season 19. Unfortunately, he was killed in a car accident recently. This left fans of the show in mourning.

A relative confirmed to TMZ that “American Idol” runner-up Willie Spence died in a car crash. The musician was in Tennessee on Tuesday when the accident occurred. However, the details of the tragedy have yet to be released.

Willie made a video just hours before the accident. In the video he was doing his thing, singing his heart out. Douglas Now broke the story first.

Willie blew the judges away in season 19 and made it all the way to the finale. “A Change is Gonna Come” and “Georgia on My Mind” were among his hits. He came second, behind Chayce Beckham.

Willie has received an outpouring of love since his death. Katharine McPhee of ‘AI’ fame expressed her heartbreak, saying, “God rest your soul Willie. It was a pleasure to sing with you and to know you.” During his time on season 19, the two sang a duet together. Producer Randall Emmett also left a message for Willie.

I was lucky to have him sing for me live at my home and other events, I will miss you my friend. I know you touched so many of us.
