Draymond Green is one of the top players in the NBA and continues to play at an elite level as part of the Golden State Warriors. Draymond is a talented and consistent player in the NBA. However, his recent violent activities did not reflect well on him.

Draymond Green brutally socking Jordan Poole at practice last week, according to Kenny Smith, is nothing. Similar instances will occur “at least twice a year on each club,” he told TMZ Sports. The outlet spoke with “The Jet” last week at LAX, just after a shocking video of Green slamming Poole in the middle of a Warriors practice emerged.

According to the NBA analyst, while it is “uncomfortable” to watch, it is not nearly as serious as people believe. “That behavior is uncommon in normal society, without question,” Smith said. “However, that behavior happens a lot in sports because of the physicality, the adrenaline, and all those things.”

I thought it was going to be worse when I saw the video. I was like, ‘Oh, they just got into a scuffle.’

The footage appears to reveal far more than that. Green appeared to lunge at Poole with full force after a verbal argument, striking him in the jaw and knocking him to the floor. Smith, on the other hand, stated that conflicts like this happen all the time in the Association, including during his playing days.

“I won two championships with like five guys who fought,” said Smith, who won back-to-back titles with the Rockets in 1994 and 1995. Smith told the outlet that he doesn’t believe Green will be suspended for the punch when he returns. He did, however, state that a fine for the four-time NBA champion is likely. “Look at the video again,” The Jet said. “Assistant coaches didn’t even jump in. They were like, ‘This stuff is not crazy.'”

Meanwhile, Draymond Green addressed his actions following the release of the footage on Saturday. He took full responsibility for his role in the fight and said that he would be leaving the team for a few days. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
