“Murder, She Wrote” actress and five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury has died at the age of 96. According to her children, Angela Lansbury died peacefully in her sleep.

In a statement to People, her family said that she passed away in her sleep. This announcement did not disclose a cause of death.

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday,”

Angela Lansbury is survived by her three children, Anthony, Deidre, and David, three grandchildren, Peter, Katherine, and Ian, and five great-grandchildren. A private family ceremony will be conducted at a later date yet to be determined.

Angela Lansbury enjoyed a stellar career boasting a fantastic trophy cabinet consisting of five Tony awards. But it was her role as Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She Wrote” that catapulted her into international stardom. She earned a dozen Emmy nominations and won four Golden Globes for the role.

It’s definitely sad to see a legendary actress pass away. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in these tumultuous times.

Hey! I'm a passionate pro wrestling fan. Since I unintentionally changed the TV channel and watched a clip from Monday Night RAW in 2006, I have been enamored with the world of professional wrestling. I've been hooked ever since. I got into WWE content writing 5 years ago and I still get excited when I get to tell people that I get paid to watch pro wrestling.
