Fans often get desperate to meet their favorite star up close. Many times, celebrities were rushed onto the stage or field. Something similar happened recently during a Buccaneers game.
TMZ reports, a security guard grabbed a young boy who ran onto the field during an NFL game on Sunday and slammed him to the ground. It all happened while Tom Brady stood just steps away. The incident occurred early in the Buccaneers’ game against the Falcons in Tampa Bay.
A 10-year-old jumped the stadium railing and dashed onto the field. The child with the Brady shirt ran several yards down the sideline, juking stadium workers who tried to stop him. However, one of the staff members eventually grabbed him and tackled him to the ground.
A supporter in the stands captured video of the boy being taken down with force. Authorities then handcuffed the boy and led him into a holding facility inside the stadium. According to a Tampa Police Department spokesperson, the youngster was issued a civil citation, given notice to appear in court, and then released.
This is the second time in less than a week that a field invader has caused a scene at an NFL game. Last Monday, during “Monday Night Football” against the 49ers, a protester wielding a smoke bomb was slammed by Rams star Bobby Wagner. He reported the incident to the police. The case is still ongoing.
Brady and the Buccaneers didn’t get involved with their brief diversion. They definitely didn’t let that worry them, as they defeated Atlanta 21-15. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
