Jury Hears Allegation Of Kevin Spacey Abusing 14-Year-Old Actor As Trial Begins

Kevin Spacey is best known for starring roles in American Beauty, The Usual Suspects, Se7en, and House Of Cards. Spacey was at the forefront of celebrities getting the #MeToo treatment at the height of its trend.

The actor of American Beauty and House of Cards recently entered a not-guilty plea to five sexual assault accusations during a hearing at London’s renowned Old Bailey court. His accuser recently told the jury that Kevin Spacey abused him when he was 14.

In his recent testimony before a New York City jury, the actor who has accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual attempt on him when he was 14 years old described how he felt helpless as Spacey crawled on top of him in bed. According to AP, Anthony Rapp stated in court that in 1986, while both stars were appearing on Broadway, Spacey, then 26 years old, invited him to a party at his Upper East Side apartment.

Rapp claimed that after the other guests had left and he had drifted into a bedroom to watch TV and get away from adults, Spacey joined him. Rapp, who is famous for his long-running gig with Rent on Broadway, said that Spacey lifted him and placed him on the bed before pressing his “whole weight” via the chest and groin into him. He claimed that he managed to slip out of the flat and escape, but not before Spacey questioned his decision to do so.

I was frozen. I was pinned underneath him. I didn’t know what to do. I’m grateful that that 14-year-old boy had the wherewithal to get away. I’d also say he shouldn’t have gone through that in the first place.

Rapp described himself as a scared child trying to fend off a large man when asked by his attorney how he would respond to anyone who minimized the seriousness of what occurred. Rapp said that Spacey took notes on a pad or sat with his hands folded while occasionally inhaling deeply.

Rapp made the charge in 2017 when he was the first of several people to publicly accuse Spacey of inappropriate touching or overtures toward him sexually. Rapp is asking for $40 million in compensation for the alleged psychological harm that came about as a result of his interaction with Spacey.
