Adriana Chechik is very famous on social media, with around 3.8 million Instagram followers and approximately 1 million Twitter followers. She has about 801K Twitch followers, where she creates content for her fans. Adriana shattered her back recently, creating content she did not want to see.

TMZ reports that Adriana fell into a foam pit and shattered her back in two places at a Twitchcon event. However, the accident did not occur in the way you might expect. Instead, she had a horrific fall into a foam pit that was reportedly not deep enough to meet regulations.

Adriana was no match for the pit at TwitchCon in San Diego on Saturday, performing a victory leap off her platform after defeating fellow streamer EdyBot in a foam jousting match. As seen on the convention’s live stream, the jump is rather impressive. However, it is the landing that is difficult for her to crawl out of the pit, which is when someone comes to her aid to find out what happened.

Adriana took to Twitter the next day, telling her fans, “Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support.” Pit-liner foam should be utilized in standard foam pits, which are usually used for gymnastics; according to manufacturers, this pit was apparently less than 2 feet deep when Adriana was injured.

The social media star wasn’t the only one who got hurt in the pit, it appears. Another person dislocated her knee. The person said, “be careful on this thing guys. I’m currently at the hospital seeing if I broke anything.”

Let’s hope Adriana recovers quickly. So we learned a lesson today: don’t jump into foam pits, no matter how safe they appear. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
