Nicki Minaj put a lot of effort into being one of the best female rappers in the hip-hop industry. Though it took a while, she eventually fulfilled her dreams. Now, it appears that Nicki has surpassed all of her accomplishments.

The Huffington Post reports an academic study on Nicki Minaj will now be done at the college level. Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmecee & Hip Hop Feminisms is a course being offered by the University of California, Berkeley. It examines “her impact in the context of broader historical-social structures & Hip-Hop feminisms.”

According to the university’s academic guidebook, the course, which is scheduled to start next semester, will contain 90-minute lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays focused on Nicki Minaj’s life and career. On Twitter, Nicki Minaj responded to a thread about the course saying, “I’d love to stop by.” The course’s curator, Dr. Peace and Love El Henson acknowledged the “Barbz” and stated her excitement for teaching the course.

Barbz: thank yall so much for the love & interest in my class! words cannot capture my excitement & appreciation for yall support. I feel so encouraged & I’m looking forward to sharing more details as they’re finalized!

The course at UC Berkeley is only one of Nicki Minaj’s most recent honors. Her huge hit “Super Freaky Girl” surpassed 100 million Spotify streams last month, making it the fastest solo female rap song to do so. The electrifying track also made its Billboard Hot 100 debut at the top spot. Nicki Minaj pointed out the difference between creating undeniable classics and creating viral hits while praising her amazing achievement on Twitter.

If you’re a SINGER questioning if you should stay true to R&B, let the record show that going viral & making lasting classics are 2 different things. Only 1 of them will stand the test of time & is respected by the greats you look up to. #LoveInTheWay @_YungBleu.

“Super Freaky Girl” is Nicki Minaj’s first No. 1 hit single as a solo artist in her immensely successful career and the first solo female rap artist song to top the Billboard Hot 100 since 1998. Let’s hope she continues to grow in her field. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
