Daniel Cormier Is Down To Cross Paths With Brock Lesnar In WWE

Daniel Cormier is widely regarded as one of the greatest to step foot inside the Octagon. However, he recently appeared in an interview where he talked about possible fights with Brock Lesnar in WWE.

At WWE Extreme Rules, Daniel Cormier will serve as the referee for the match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle inside the Fight Pit. Now that the door is open for Cormier to do more with WWE, fans started wondering if WWE will be able to arrange a fight between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar. Cormier and Lesnar briefly faced off in the octagon at UFC 226 after Cormier’s knockout victory over Stipe Miocic.

In an interview with ESPN, Daniel Cormier claimed that he hasn’t heard anything about a possible WWE fight between himself and Brock Lesnar, but he thinks the buzz among fans is a good thing.

“I’ve not heard anything. That’s the thing, right? When something like this happens, and this was, honestly, very good for me because people started to talk. People started talking about, ‘Oh my goodness, I remember when him and Brock were in the octagon and they were supposed to fight.’ So, it seems to make a lot of sense. But as you know, just because something makes sense see, it doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen. So, no, there is no talk of me fighting Brock Lesnar.”

Speaking about their fight at UFC 226 with Brock Lesnar, Daniel Cormier said it was the start of a buildup to something similar to a WrestleMania without a payoff.

“We laid the foundation, but we did not get the payoff. It was a slow build. The build was far too slow. Yeah. It was like a year build with no WrestleMania match.”
