Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-led Black Adam is just a few days away from hitting theaters. The WWE Superstar recently announced a global tour to promote the film and was fully committed to its success. Rock’s efforts appear to have finally paid off.

According to projections, the film “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, will be a major success. The film will be released in theaters on October 21st. According to Deadline, Black Adam is expected to gross between $65 and $70 million on its first weekend.

If it grosses more than $68.1 million, it will be the Rock’s best opening weekend since “The Mummy Returns.” In the movie, he had a cameo as The Scorpion King. He later had a leading role in “The Scorpion King” movie.

The synopsis for the movie reads like the following: “Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.” Black Adam was supposed to be released on July 29, but due to a massive backlog of VFX work at post-production houses, Warners pushed the release date to the fourth weekend of October.

This allowed Warner Bros. and Johnson to tubthump Black Adam at the San Diego Comic-Con. Universal’s George Clooney and Julia Roberts romance comedy Ticket to Paradise, which opens on October 21 and is aimed squarely at older women, has already grossed over $46.4 million abroad.

Last October was huge, with all movies grossing $623.2 million, thanks to the popularity of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Dune, Halloween Kills, and No Time to Die. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
