The Migos ranks on the top of many fans’ favorite lists as a hip-hop trio. After Offset unfollowed the other two members of the group on Instagram and the Migos canceled their scheduled performance at the Governor’s Ball in New York City earlier this year, there were rumors that the group was splitting up. Quavo and Takeoff recently shed light on the Migos Split.

For numerous musicians, 2022 has been a year of unexpected endings and fresh starts. The announcement that the Migos were splitting up, however, startled fans more than any other separation. Offset would continue as a solo artist while Quavo and Takeoff would start their adventure as a duo in place of the Nawfside trio that fans have come to know and love.

While there might be some strained feelings, DJ AKademiKs told TMZ in May that he “actually spoke to Offset just the other day, and while there might be some tense feelings, he doesn’t think any ‘beef’ will escalate to a full-scale split.” Offset’s departure from the Culture rappers looked to be confirmed as the group postponed their concert at Governors Ball over the summer, despite hopes that they were only stirring up controversy before releasing new songs.

Offset has released new music since the breakup, including the Moneybagg Yo-assisted track “Code,” while Quavo and Takeoff just revealed the title of their debut joint album, “Only Built For Infinity Links.” The Unc & Phew pair recently appeared on the Big Facts podcast and spoke candidly about the separation of the group and whether or not fans should anticipate a new Migos album in the future.

We want to see our career as a duo. Because we came from a loyal family thats supposed to work together. And sometime when sh-t don’t work out, its not meant to be.

Takeoff added his thoughts on the future of the group.  “We don’t know all the answers. God know. We pray a lot so only time will tell. Aint nothing got change.” Quavo interjected, “We stand on loyalty. And sometimes that sh-t ain’t displayed. Right now we gon’ be the duo till time tell.” Only time will tell if a new Migos album will be released in the near future. Check out the interview below.
