Jimmy Haslam is the chairman of the board of the Pilot Flying J truck stop chain. He and his wife Dee own the National Football League’s (NFL) Cleveland Browns and Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew (MLS). Jimmy recently had to deal with an unfortunate event.

TMZ reports, following Jeffrey Miller’s arrest for throwing a bottle at Jimmy Haslam during the Browns’ loss to the Jets earlier this month, the man had several questions for cops. The queries include, “Am I going to jail for a while?!?” according to a new police video obtained by the outlet.

On September 18, Jeffrey Miller was placed in the back of a squad car at FirstEnergy Stadium after being accused of hurling a water bottle at the Cleveland owner during the fourth quarter of the game and as officials were treating him, he asked a few questions. Miller, a 51-year-old Ohio resident, first asked, “Can I call my wife and tell her I’m not coming home?”

He later asked, “I’m being arrested for throwing a water bottle?!?” In the video, you can hear officers say he was actually being taken into custody for “assault, failure to comply … and disorderly conduct.” As previously reported, cops said they identified Miller as the bottle thrower based on surveillance video after Haslam was hit by the object while walking into a stadium tunnel.

According to police documents, Miller did not stop when officers attempted to detain him at first. They claim that when they finally took Miller to a police room in the stadium, he said, “It never hit the field.” The Browns have stated that they intend to ban the fan from attending future home games. “Fan, player and staff safety is the top priority in our building and behavior that puts others in danger will not be tolerated,” the Browns said in a statement two days following the incident.

Luckily no one was harmed in this incident and as a standard practice, we’ve cooperated with law enforcement authorities and security video footage of the object being thrown is in the appropriate hands. We will have no further comment on this matter.

Some fans can go crazy after their team loses, failing to recognize that it is simply a game. However, it’s a good thing Jimmy wasn’t injured. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
