Tekashi 6ix9ine Drags Brittney Griner During His Trip To Russia

Tekashi 6ix9ine needs no introduction as he is a very controversial figure in the Hip-Hop industry. At this point, he is feuding with practically every artist worth mentioning. He recently took a jab at Brittney Griner and obviously received a lot of backlash from netizens.

Despite the U.S. government’s recent warning against traveling to Russia “due to the unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces,” the controversial Brooklyn rapper arrived in Moscow over the weekend.

6ix9ine allegedly couldn’t resist taking a potshot at the WNBA star, who is now imprisoned in the former Soviet state on drug-related charges, while enjoying the sights in the Russian city. In a video clip posted on social media, the “TROLLZ” rapper can be heard stating, “You know we out here, shit is crazy,” before laughing and whispering, “F*ck Brittney Griner.”

Despite the fact that his fans have become used to his profanity, 6ix9ine still faced backlash on social media as a result of his offensive remarks. “Someone tell Putin that America will gladly exchange 6ix9ine for Britney Griner. And that he can be found at the Red Square,” one user tweeted, while another said: “6ix9ine has to resort [to] dissing Brittney Griner for clout now. That n-gga truly fell off.”

On Akademiks’ Instagram page, the rapper responded to the criticism and admitted being drunk at the time. He didn’t appear to be sorry for his statements, though.

The rapper wrote in the comments,

“I’m not gonna lie I was drunk .. but I stand on that. I’m in Russia while y’all scared to come here… argue with yourself smd I’m like that .. just remember I’m still alive while your favorite rapper is dead I’ll be mad too.”

Following her conviction for drug use and smuggling in August, Brittney Griner was sentenced to a nine-year prison term in Russia. She was detained at a Moscow airport in February after being found in possession of vaporizer cartridges containing less than a gram of hash oil.  Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
