Tom Brady is finding it tough to separate his personal and professional life. Tough decisions regarding his NFL career have certainly made a dent in his life. This time, Brady is finally getting a breather every Wednesday for the entirety of the 2022 season.

Brady will have a personal day every Wednesday for the first time in his career, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on Sunday. The veteran players in the league typically get the weekly day off. Blaine Gabbert, the backup quarterback, will take over his reps on first and second-down days when he pauses each Wednesday.

Over the past couple of years with the Buccaneers, Brady has occasionally rested on Thursdays. It will, however, be permanent this time and last the entire season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ representatives did not immediately respond to PEOPLE‘s request for comment.

As a result of the new structure, Brady will now appear on every injury report during the season. Journalist Jeff Nowak tweeted that they will only be updated on Thursday or Friday when there is a real injury. After such a lengthy period of service, Todd Bowles, head coach of the Buccaneers, believes it is crucial to grant him a day off.

“For most players, it’s important. But I think when you play in the league a certain amount of time, and you prepare a certain way, it’s not necessary to practice that guy all the time. You’re going to practice, but you’re not going to practice all the time. You’ll get a day off here and there because it is a long season.”

After defeating the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday, Tampa Bay currently has a 1-0 record. In Bowles’ debut contest as head coach, his squad won. Brady admitted to feeling the effects of the victory on his Let’s Go! podcast, but his soreness quickly subsided as he later declared to reporters, “I feel terrific today.”

Brady’s career has seemed to have smoothened out by this announcement. However, his relationship with Gisele Bündchen has suffered as a result of his choice to reverse his retirement. We hardly believe a day off every week from now on will mend that.
