The long-running conservatorship issue between Britney Spears and Jamie Spears appears to be coming to a conclusion. Fans have been wondering whether the rivalry between daughter and father would resolve; it sounds like negotiating is the only option left.

Britney and Jamie Spears’ lawyers are in talks to settle their heated legal dispute, according to insiders with intimate knowledge of both sides. According to TMZ, Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has contacted both Jamie’s counsel and lawyers for Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group to settle the case.

As fans may know, Rosengart has accused Jamie and Tri-Star of stealing large sums of money from Britney, which they have firmly denied. According to the sources, a few months after the conservatorship ended last November, lawyers for Jamie and Tri-Star met Rosengart to settle their issues, but Britney’s lawyer refused and went full steam ahead.

Rosengart reportedly changed his mind about a month ago and offered to settle the legal battle for a price of about $7 million. According to sources, lawyers for Tri-Star and Jamie wanted to know how he arrived at that amount, but Rosengart refused to provide specifics, resulting in a stalemate.

According to the sources, all parties are still open to settling, and Rosengart contacted Tri-Star as recently as this week to go forward with a prospective deal. This is not to claim that everyone is in agreement.

According to sources with firsthand knowledge of Tri-Star and Jamie, Rosengart is “scrambling” to settle the lawsuit. However, a source close to Britney’s camp told Rosengart is not in a hurry, and general settlement talks are simply a regular operating process in any court case.

The sticking point, of course, is how much Jamie and/or Tri-Star are ready to pay, and how much Britney is willing to take to terminate this court battle. Let’s see if they can reach a consensus or if this will continue. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more information.
