Brie Larson made her MCU debut with the intergalactic superhero Captain Marvel. While she plays one of the most overpowered Marvel characters on the big screen, Larson gets a lot of criticism for it. The role of Captain Marvel is also up for a reboot with a male lead.

The actress is always facing constant criticism from fans and critics alike. Disney teased a lot of upcoming content at the D23 Expo on Saturday. Larson is going to play Captain Marvel once again on “The Marvels.” The project will feature other superheroes with similar powers.

The MCU star is obviously aware of the hate she’s received throughout the years. During a press event, one of the interviewers asked her how long will she be playing the role. She answered by asking whether fans even want her playing the character anymore.

I don’t know. Does anyone want me to do it again?

Fans didn’t seem to like the passive-aggressive tone that the actress carried. Many took to Twitter to shower her with criticism over her role as Captain Marvel. It’s unclear why exactly fans don’t like her, with some citing her smugness, while others think she doesn’t bring any gravity to the character.

The Marvels will also feature Iman Vellani, who already introduced herself with the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. Larson also revealed her thoughts on working with Vellani for the project. While she doesn’t know how long she’s going to be around for the role, it seems she’s not going away any time soon.
