Kanye West has been making headlines for many reasons as of late. The rap legend also has eyes on the fashion business as he plans to revolutionize the industry with his “homeless” look. Recently, Ye announced that he will be opening Yeezy brick-and-mortar stores worldwide.
The Donda rapper, who is 45, took to Instagram on Wednesday with a lengthy text post stating, “We are going to open a Yeezy stores worldwide starting in Atlanta.” In his post, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband also seemed to take a dig at Adidas and Gap stating that he ‘saved’ both companies, despite the fact that they didn’t build permanent Yeezy stores like their contract reportedly outlined.
Ye asked his 16.5 million followers to apply for positions. He wrote in the post, “Who would be best to open it? I’ll buy the land and or building, then we gonna open up in every state and then internationally.” He also added a second slide to the post, featuring a screenshot of a Facetime between him and rapper 2 Chainz.
In the caption he wrote, “2 Chainz said he got the mayor(‘s) number I added the s cause my mama was head of the English department But this may take some incorrect English to get done.” The designer then shared various messages of support from his famous friends, including one from social media personality Justin Laboy offering to be part of the business.
The announcement comes after West claimed that Gap is excluding him from meetings and ripping off his Balenciaga designs. West, who released his first product with the company last year, aired his grievances with the retail giant in a series of Instagram posts which suggested his relationship with the company had grown rocky.
