DaBaby is no stranger to fame or the controversies that come with it. The rapper was scheduled to perform at an upcoming show in New Orleans, but it was canceled due to low ticket sales. DaBaby recently shared an animated gif that appeared to be a response to what happened.

DaBaby seems unconcerned by reports that he had to cancel a concert in New Orleans due to low ticket sales. In reaction to the article, he shared a gif of himself smirking on Twitter. In case you need a refresher, the rapper was only able to sell 500 tickets for the 14,000-seat Smoothie King Center.

The animated gif shows DaBaby looking around before smirking and sipping a drink. Euell “7th Ward Shorty” Sylvester and Greg Pulver promoted the show through their companies Clear Bizness Entertainment and 70/30. Pulver apologized in a statement to NOLA.com.

We sincerely apologize that we must postpone the For The Culture Tour stop in New Orleans featuring DaBaby that was set to happen on September 2nd. The public information being released is false and we didn’t authorize anyone to announce the cancellation of this event.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our intentions and actions have been to work with the Smoothie King Center and artist management to postpone this event. We are in the process of working with all parties involved to announce future dates and times.

When asked what caused the low turnout, Sylvester pointed to the choice to include the EDM group Showtek on the list and claims that when the event is rescheduled, it will feature exclusively hip-hop artists. He also speculated that DaBaby’s previous homophobic remarks harmed his popularity in the market. DaBaby’s next concert is scheduled for October 29th in Paris, France. As of this writing, the concert is still a go, but we have no idea how well tickets have sold.

Let’s see how things proceed for Dababy. He could always shoot someone else to get his street cred back up there. You can check out DaBaby’s recent tweet below. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
