Tom Brady is one of the biggest football stars of all time. Fans were curious as to why he missed the first two weeks of the training camp. Brady finally broke his silence on Saturday about his recent mysterious 11-day absence from Buccaneers camp, but his face might have said more than his words.

While he chatted with media ahead of Saturday night’s preseason game against the Colts in Indianapolis, the seven-time Super Bowl champion appeared noticeably thin and his hair appeared to be a shade or two darker than usual. Brady’s hiatus was never explained in detail, officially chalked up to “personal” reasons.

Bucs coach Todd Bowles said it was an excused absence and had been planned from the outset of camp. On Saturday, Brady declined to offer much clarity. He said, “It’s all personal. You know, everyone has different situations that they’re dealing with. So, we all have really unique challenges to our life.” He added, “I’m 45 years old, man — there’s a lot of shit going on. So, you’ve just got to try to figure out life the best you can, and it’s a continuous process.”

Brady’s absence sparked a flurry of irrational speculation. Thankfully, early reports dispelled rumors that he or a member of his family was ill. Brady supposedly needed time off to take part in “The Masked Singer,” according to one particularly amusing hypothesis.
