Shia LaBeouf rose to international prominence after appearing in Transformers in 2007, and this came after a stint as a child Disney actor on Even Stevens. He is currently beefing with Olivia Wilde over ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and whether he was fired. LaBeouf also revealed that he is 627 days sober.
LaBeouf recently revealed he permanently stopped drinking in an effort to improve himself. According to Variety, he has been sober for more than a year and a half. LaBeouf discussed his sobriety in a letter to Olivia Wilde that he recently wrote while they were embroiled in a bitter argument.
I have embarked on a journey that feels redemptive & righteous (dirty word but fitting). I write to you now with 627 days of sobriety and a moral compass that never existed before my great humbling that was the last year and a quarter of my life.
LaBeouf recently discussed his changed outlook in an interview with Bishop Robert Barron of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries. After publicly accusing him of “relentless abuse,” Shia LaBeouf reportedly said that his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs saved his life.
In December 2020, the 34-year-old “Cellophane” singer filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf alleging sexual violence, assault, and infliction of emotional distress. Twigs claimed that the actor choked her, threatened to crash the car they were both in, and purposefully exposed her to an STD. LaBeouf, though, refuted her allegations. It’s good to see LaBeouf getting better.
