For all the perks that come with being a celebrity, there’s definitely a price to be paid. It’s not easy having your privacy violated every day of your life. It shouldn’t be surprising to learn that celebs do whatever they can to maintain a modicum of privacy, even Adele.

One of the primary tactics employed by celebrities, when it comes to staying anonymous online, is the use of secret accounts. Kylie Jenner, Kristen Stewart, Beyoncé, and other have admitted to using “finstas.”

It seems that Adele is also a part of the secret social media club, or at least she was, until recently. Adele had first mentioned her secret Twitter account back in 2017. At the time, she had explained that it was reserved for her less curated posts.

Since Adele was not given access to her official Twitter account, she had created a fake, secret account to stay anonymous, and speak her mind without worrying about public opinion.

However, Adele revealed to Elle, that she ultimately got rid of the secret account, out of embarrassment. Following her postponement of her Las Vegas residency, the singer could not deal with all the backlash from fans.

That definitely sounds like a difficult position to be in. After all, negative feedback can ruin anyone’s day. Here’s hoping that Adele has been enjoying her social media detox.
