Gunna and numerous other YSL affiliates were arrested under the Georgia RICO Act, which shook the hip-hop community to its core. However, some positive assumptions are on the way for supporters. Gunna recently announced on Instagram that he’ll “Be Home Soon” as “DS4EVER” reaches platinum status.

Despite spending the previous few months imprisoned in Fulton County Jail, YSL artist Gunna has a good outlook, especially now that his most recent album, DS4EVER, has been certified platinum.

The 29-year-crew old’s posted on his behalf to his Instagram page, commemorating the fact that his project had sold over one million copies since its January premiere. He captioned the post, saying he is grateful for the biggest sales of his hip-hop album.

“Thankful to have the highest selling hip-hop album this year.”

“Miss you all; love you, and I’ll be home soon – Gunna,” he said at the end of the brief but hopeful message. While he is undoubtedly eager to get home, the latest update on the YSL Gang Indictment states that he and Young Thug will remain behind bars until their trial in early 2023.

Fortunately, the rapper has a hugely influential celebrity on his side: Kim Kardashian. The socialite recently expressed her desire to see Sergio Kitchens released from prison, tweeting “#FreeGunna [Free emoji] [P emoji]” to her 73.1 million followers last month and posting a screenshot to her Instagram Story.

This isn’t the first time fans have heard from Gunna since his arrest in May. A video of the College Park native in a video conversation with his Godson surfaced online recently, and the recording artist appeared to be in good spirits. He wrote a letter from his prison cell back in June.

“For now, I don’t have my freedom. But I am innocent.”

“I am being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name! The picture being painted of me is ugly and untrue … I have all faith that God will grant me justice for the purity in my heart and the innocence of my actions.”

It’s still questionable when Gunna will be released. Fans must wait for the court’s order to find out what the ruling will be. What are your assumptions? Let us know in the comments. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more information.
