Kraft Heinz, the company behind Capri Sun, has found itself in a bit of a predicament. The company has had to recall thousands of Capri Sun pouches recently, and the reason is quite concerning.

TMZ reports that Kraft Heinz issued an official recall of 5,760 cases of Capri Sun, stating the reason that they may have been contaminated with a cleaning solution. The solution, which is used at their production plants, could have gotten into the product.

While Kraft Heinz has narrowed down the potentially contaminated batch to the Wild Cherry flavor, the company is still finding it difficult to track down exactly where the contaminated cases might have gone.

The contamination was only found out about after several consumers complained about the taste of the beverage, which eventually led to an investigation, which ultimately decided that a batch may have been contaminated.

As for customers who have purchased cases that might be contaminated, they can return the cases to the point of purchase for refunds. It seems like Capri Sun will do their best to correct this mistake. As of this writing, we haven’t heard about anyone who actually got sick.
