Anne Heche passed away after the horrific car accident. She was left with serious burns and was announced brain-dead, but the actress was also under investigation for felony DUI. However, it looks like the investigation will not move further.

“As of today, there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case,” the Los Angeles Police Department announced in a statement to Page Six on Saturday. Any information or records that have been requested prior to this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case. According to a TMZ article published on August 10th, the original investigations were elevated to a felony DUI after a lady claimed she was hurt and needed medical treatment as a result of Heche ramming into her home.

Page Six was nevertheless informed on August 12th by an LAPD public relations officer that the probe had only been deemed a “preliminary” felony awaiting more toxicological tests.
