Kobe Bryant was widely recognized as one of the best basketball players of all time, and his death shocked many in the NBA. It was made worse by the fact that his daughter Gianna and seven others died beside him in a tragic helicopter crash. Unfortunately, some people took advantage of the situation and breached the privacy of those who perished, and now they are answering for that in court.

Vanessa Bryant is currently suing Los Angeles officials for their role in the circulation of pictures from the crash site. One sheriff’s deputy even showed the photos to a woman at a bar in order to impress her. Bryant was very shocked by this.

According to ESPN, she is seeking millions of dollars in damages. The trial begins today, and Bryant is sticking to her guns. In a similar lawsuit, the families of the other victims obtained up to $2.5 million. This sets a strong precedent for Bryant, who has been outspoken about the county’s malpractice.

“Mrs. Bryant feels ill at the thought that sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, and members of the public have gawked at gratuitous images of her deceased husband and child. She lives in fear that she or her children will one day confront horrific images of their loved ones online.”
