Nicki Minaj doesn’t require an introduction as she is regarded as one of the most popular rappers. Throughout her incredible career, the artist has received numerous awards. She might soon need to make room on her award shelf for MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Nicki Minaj is all set to receive Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform at the 2022 VMAs live from Prudential Center, later this month. It will be Minaj’s first appearance at the ceremony since 2018. “Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry,” said Bruce Gillmer, president of music talent, music, programming, and events, Paramount+.

“She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style and continuing to be unapologetically ‘Nicki’.”

The award is given to musicians who have been considered to have significantly influenced music videos and popular culture.
